MEGHAN joined the Geese in 2003 after seeing a former Goose clogging away. She played fiddle with the old-time, honky-tonk swing band The Ditchlilies, from 2004-2009 and now teaches workshops, sings and plays with different folks and with Adam Kiesling in Ginger Chicken. She recently put out a self-produced album of songs and American fiddle tunes which can be found at meghandudlemusic.com. She works on engaging citizens and youth around non-point source pollution at Friends of The Mississippi River.
RINA joined the Geese in October 2006, largely due to her decision to wear a polka-dot red dress to the auditions.
That fateful wardrobe choice has quickly changed her life—besides learning how to do basics she has learned
that clogging with the Geese is about the most fun a girl can have. When not clogging, Rina loves to garden, work
with young people to make local food available to all, or cook (although she often clogs while she doing the latter).
She also aspires to be an old-time fiddler, someday.
Even though she grew up in North Carolina, SARAH K was first inspired to clog at a barn dance/potluck wedding in Iowa.
She danced with the Geese in 2002-2003, and in April 2008 she rejoined the flock. Sarah thinks wearing pretty dresses
and dancing with friends is big fun. When she's not dancing, she plays banjo with the old-time band,
Lulu Gals.
LARA grew up in Texas, and attended a school where clogging was taught in 5th grade. Sadly, she transfered schools after the 4th grade,
and has always felt she missed out on a very good thing. Lara joined the Geese in April 2008, and now she has a chance
to fulfill her elementary-school dreams! Lara is also passionate about Scandinavian dance and is the artistic director of the
North Star Nordic Dancers.
ANNA joined the Geese in October of 2009. She grew up in Minneapolis and loved to tap dance as a girl. Since then she’s
been known to break out in tap on a hardwood floor. She can’t wait to learn more Appalachian clogging, as she now has a way
to join in on the fun as her husband claw-hammers on the banjo. Anna is a fan of traditional and old-time music, and likes to
get out on the town and hear live music when it doesn’t conflict with her early bedtime as a middle school teacher.
ERINN is seeking to refine her creative interest in rhythmic and musical dance, specifically jazz and
socially-related forms, through a series of many expected and unexpected experiences—like clogging with the Geese! Erinn also performs
regularly with jazz dance company the Eclectic Edge Ensemble
and frequently in pick-up projects. She enjoys sunshine when it is raining, being Midwestern, and trying to
cultivate too many interests as once; namely, encouraging the development of jazz and vernacular dance in the Twin Cities.
SARAH C joined the Geese in spring of 2010 and she is excited to be in dancing shoes once more. Sarah has dabbled in many different styles of dance over the years through her acting experience. Her love of theater arts has led her to the University of Minnesota Theater Department. There she is exploring all aspects of theater creation, performance and design. When not clogging or in classes, Sarah loves to pick and sing with anyone who will indulge her.
LAURA spent her formative years playing with her doll house, coloring and tap dancing. She has since retired the doll house, but still loves art and all
things dance. Laura is ecstatic to be a new Goose as she gets to partake in one of her favorite pastimes on a regular basis.
JIM B is the senior member of the Geese. When he's not clogging, you can find him calling at the
first Saturday New England contra dance at Oddfellows Hall, or singing with
The Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company.
JOE joined the Geese in April 2008 after realizing he needed lots more dancing in his life. Having discovered the joy
of contra dances in Missoula, Montana, Joe has been thrilled to find a flourishing old-time music and dance community
upon his return to the Twin Cities, and couldn't be more excited to learn clogging from such a fine flock of dancers.
Joe has also found himself to be an aspiring old-time banjo player. Aspiring to what? He's not quite sure.
JOHN, born in the frigid period of 1981, grew up in the great city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was fortunate enough to have been
birthed of the Folk community therein. The son of two Wild Goose Chase Cloggers, and having made his first onstage appearance at the
ripe old age of about -5 months, you could say that clogging is in his blood. After a brief, and squandered hiatus, he found his
way back to where he belongs. "Thank you, Mom and Dad, for always knowing that this would someday make me so happy!"
SAM's love of dancing was kindled in the unlikeliest of all places:
the middle school dance. Ever since he learned to groove with Puff Daddy and The Family, he's been expressing himself via body and
space in kitchens, parties, and weddings across the Midwest. His grandmother also owned a square dance apparel shop, and after
going to a square dance in the late summer of 2008, he felt it was in his blood. At the square dances he saw people clicketing
and clacketing and wanted to learn that himself. He did, and now he's here. He also loves his cat Wendell and is learning to play the
banjo.
After he joined the Geese in March, 2010, SHAWN quickly realized a newfound love of his life. He started dancing at the age of seven at his uncle's wedding where he experienced the liberation of dance. He has enjoyed Latin, contra and square dancing and finds the act dancing to be the most energizing and life giving experiences he has had. If he is not dancing he is running, biking and enjoying the beauty of nature.
After years in therapy, DAVE has finally recovered from lost years of dancing with the Kingsessing Morris Men of Philadelphia. Having been brainwashed at several MooseJaw weekends, he sold his soul to the Demon Clogger and was mercifully adopted by the Geese in 2010. He exercises his fine motor skills by playing sundry stringed instruments, including the tenor banjo, with his wife Suzanne, his band Roisin Dubh, and at various Irish sessions around town. In recent years he was infected with OTV (Old Time Virus) and now spends many hours admiring his new banjo and wondering what to do with that 5th string.
